Specialized Services
Integrative Psychiatry
means looking at the whole person. Your story matters and and is very relevant in your journey of healing. In general, I will be meeting with you for a more extended period of time than most psychiatry providers. Healing is targeted from functional, physical, spiritual, emotional, energetic, and social lenses. People benefit from western, eastern, and/or holistic interventions. Our goal is always optimal wellness (rather than a quick fix, cover up bandage).
Services Offered
Western medicine and integrative interventions may include:
Psychiatric medication management
Medication deprescribing
Psychotherapy
Lifestyle coaching
Longer visit times including supportive therapy
Genetic testing
Extensive lab testing including functional nutritional testing, advanced hormone testing, food allergy & sensitivity testing, and gut microbiome testing.
Herbal & plant-based medicine
Mind-body medicine including energetic interventions
Nutriceutical and nutritional supplementation
Comprehensive Psychiatry Evaluation:
We will meet for about 1.5 - 2 hours online for the first visit with a primary goal of establishing a trusted patient provider relationship. We discuss what is ailing you with the intention of getting to know you as a human being, not just your “symptoms”. The comprehensive psychiatric evaluation reviews what you’re experiencing and we begin to establish a treatment plan. I specialize in comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children, teens, and adults working with the following areas:
Depression
Anxiety
Trauma
Mood Swings
Obsessive and Compulsive Behaviors
Insomnia
ADHD
Autism
(Please note we also provide general Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluations as well!)
Then what?
Follow Up Appointments:
After the first visit, we meet and discuss progress, reviewing recommendations, and determining what is helpful and what needs to be updated. This includes medication, labs, and/or other integrative interventions. You can chose your follow up appointment, as they are time based options.
45-minute and 60-minute sessions offer time to integrate psychotherapy. 30-minute session are more focused, addressing medication and holistic interventions only. Shorter appointments are usually more ideal for those who already have an outside therapist. Treatment plans are unique to that individual and we will come up with your plan together as a team, however in general, visit frequency can range from weekly to every couple months.
Insurance
Integrative psychiatry - I am an out-of-network psychiatry provider, which means I am able to offer holistic psychiatric care that incorporates both traditional medicine and complementary therapeutic treatments. By not taking insurance, I am able to to do so much more:
offer a more personalized and comprehensive approach to your care, as I am not limited by the corporate restrictions of insurance.
spend more time with you during your visits
utilize evidence-informed integrative psychiatry that can be hard to find in community psychiatry
provide trauma informed care
General psychiatry - I am currently accepting select Aetna and Cigna plans
