Frequently Asked Questions

  • Integrative psychiatry combines traditional psychiatry interventions with evidence-based complementary and holistic alternative therapies. It integrates psychological, biological, social, and spiritual factors to address mental health. A range of treatment modalities are considered, including medication management, psychotherapy, lifestyle interventions, nutritional support, and mind-body practices. The goal is to provide the most comprehensive and personalized care to address the root causes of mental health issues (rather than cover a wound) and promote the highest well-being.

  • I believe that the best results are achieved through integrative psychiatry, focusing on understanding the root cause of mental health symptoms and promoting holistic treatment options, including recommendations for non-prescription supplements and botanicals, diet optimization, and mind-body practices. Highly personalized and collaborative treatment make for best results.

  • I see patients via telehealth or at office in Pennington, NJ. Most patients are seen via telehealth.

  • I treat patients 6 years and up.

  • This is very personalized, however most commonly we may meet monthly for the first 3-6 months of treatment and then to meet every 3 months following that.

  • I do not prescribe controlled substances.

  • All appointments must be cancelled at least 24 business hours in advance. Otherwise you are responsible for the full appointment fee.

  • For integrative psychiatry, I do not work with insurance companies, but your health insurance may cover part of the cost of my services

I can also provide superbills that you can use to request reimbursement out of network. You will need to check your out-of-network coverage with your insurance.

In network providers often have restrictions that prevent them offering the quality of care that integrative psychiatry providers can provide. An out-of-network provider, would be an better fit for you if you are interesting in the following:

-A psychiatry provider who takes more time with you during visits

-Evidence-informed integrative psychiatry access that is difficult to obtain in community health

-A trauma-informed approach honoring your story

-Making an investment in you, your health, and well-being

I offer a holistic approach to psychiatry, incorporating both traditional psychiatric treatments and complementary therapies. By not taking insurance, I can offer more comprehensive and personalized care, without being limited by time or insurance restrictions.

***For general psychiatry evaluations, I accept select Aetna and Cigna plans

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else, is the greatest accomplishment.
